Adobe Photoshop Camera Brings Real-Time Filters and AI to Photo Sharing

MacStories:

Photoshop Camera comes with several pre-installed filters, which Adobe calls Lenses, with additional ones available for download from the app’s built-in Lens Library. Some Lenses have been designed by Adobe, while others have been created by third-party photographers, and even musician Billie Eilish.

Donald Trump has praised the Chinese government over Tiananmen Square

Donald Trump in Playboy (1990) (via Daring Fireball):

When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak… as being spit on by the rest of the world.

Misschien moet onze bestuurlijke klasse maar eens duidelijk maken dat wij als westerse democratie spugen op wat zich op dit moment afspeelt in het hoofd en het handelen van Bunker Boy

Why are Africa’s coronavirus successes being overlooked?

Afua Hirsch in The Guardian:

But what has also happened is that many African nations, realising early on that large-scale, expensive testing and hospitalisation was not an option for the populations, had no choice but to take a more creative approach.

‘Mythic Quest: Quarantine’: 40 iPhones, $600K for Charity and a Cast and Crew Eager to Keep Going

But our feeling was that when we’re done with this quarantine, people are not going to want to keep talking about it. They’ll be sick of it. So Rob had this idea, which was basically, “What if we just do something now, and then we can acknowledge it and get it out of the way so that when we do eventually return to the second season, we don’t have to have it be about the quarantine? It’ll just be post-quarantine.”

Heel het eerste seizoen van die serie is trouwens zwaar aan te raden:

What if You Don’t Want to Go Back to the Office?

The New York Times:

Any kind of flexibility is something that people are really, really ripe for, just some control over where and when they work.

+1!

Raising our probability of being right

Paul Jarvis in zijn uitstekende nieuwsbrief the Sunday Dispatches:

Whether it’s an editor, agent or cofounder, their job is to challenge me—if they don’t push against my ideas with vigour, they aren’t doing their job well or doing my work justice. Being challenged helps us make our work and ideas stronger. It aids us in making them larger truths. I don’t know why so many people, especially creatives, shy away from being challenged—it’s definitely tough and sometimes a hard pill to swallow, but think about it: these people we ask to challenge what we believe are after the same goal—to make what we think and what we create the best it can be. We’re on the same page and after the same outcome. Besides, if we can’t convince one or a few other people of our logic, how logical is what we’re saying anyway?
